HEALTH
A Pioneer in the Medical Imaging Industry
Analogic has a rich history of innovation. We developed the instant imaging Computed Tomography (CT) scanner in 1975 for an OEM customer, and quickly evolved into a leading developer of advanced subsystems for the emerging field of medical imaging. Today, we are a leading OEM supplier of: CT Data Acquisition Systems (DASs) CT Data Management Systems (DMSs) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) power systems flat-panel direct digital radiography detectors, and ultrasound transducers. We have a strong history of developing CT beam lines for multimodality systems as well as complete CT and DR systems and subsystems for OEM customers. Through our B-K Medical subsidiary, Analogic also provides solutions for growing, niche, end-user markets in clinical ultrasound, particularly surgery and urology.
SECURITY
A Leading Supplier of Security Imaging Solutions
Leveraging our knowledge of medical CT, Analogic began developing advanced CT-based security imaging systems over a decade ago. We developed the world’s first checked luggage scanner to provide three-dimensional images of all the contents of a bag. The EXACT® (EXplosive Assessment Computed Tomography) scanner is the heart of L-3 Communications’ government-certified eXaminer® 3DX automatic Explosives Detection System (EDS). More than 750 eXaminers are installed in airports around the world scanning checked luggage for aircraft.
Working under multiple government contracts, Analogic continues to create more advanced high-performance checked and checkpoint imaging systems to help secure our nations’ airports. Our KING COBRA and XLB checked luggage systems are designed to meet the needs of small to mid-sized, and large, high-traffic airports, respectively. These systems are in development and expected to go into certification later this year.
