About the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) XJTLU is China’s leading Joint Venture University, located in Suzhou, China. These platforms are: ? ? ?Non-degree eduation ? ? ?Innovation Factories ? ? ?X3 Co-Venture (a university Incubator) About the role: The Business Development Manager (BD Manager) is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategies to drive growth and increase revenue in the postgraduate education sector. This includes planning and executing postgraduate recruitment, communication with domestic and international universities, education industrial collaboration, short course, exchange students program, and promotion for entrepreneurial competition. The BD Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve these goals and ensure overall business success. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Accountable as the first point of contact for businesses concerning potential strategic partnerships, and leading on the development of these in liaison with the Management Team of the School and Leadership Team of the College 2. Take a leading role in communicating and understanding the needs and expectations of existing business partners, to ensure that they are encouraged and enabled to maintain long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with the University and proactively in the provision of the Syntegrative Education model 3. Develop and implement the strategy to enhance the employability, personal development and career opportunities of students and alumni of the School, including identifying suitable internship opportunities where necessary 4. Support the activities of Dean of School, Directors, faculty members and School Manager concerning business engagement initiatives 5. Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure the successful implementation of graduate recruitment plans and achieve enrollment targets. 6. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential recruitment opportunities and threats, and provide data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions. 7. Develop and present regular progress reports to senior leadership team members, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement. 8. Participate in industry conferences, networking events, and outreach activities to promote the university's graduate programs and enhance its reputation in the academic community. 9. In collaboration with the University Career Development Office and University of Liverpool Alumni Office to build up and strengthen the intellectual and emotional ties with employers, students, alumni and other strategic partners worldwide 10. Oversee the management of School events involving business engagement and development, such as work-based learning, conferences, guest lectures, knowledge transfer showcases as well as the organisation of events nationally and internationally, such as company visits and field trips. 11. In consultation with the Dean, and the Taicang Leadership Team, be responsible and accountable for the business engagement and development budget, maintaining up-to-date and accurate information of forecasts vs. plans, taking proactive **** to resolve issues, and escalating when appropriate 12. Monitor the competition, exploit innovative commercial opportunities for the School(s) 13. Measure and report on service quality and impact, managing the gathering of customer feedback and identifying key challenges and solutions 14. Support the development of the brand and reputation of the XJTLU as a whole 15. Take any other work-related tasks assigned by the Chief Operating Officer or the Dean of the School. Qualifications: 1. Master’s degree or equivalent qualification of the major related to Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics plus 3-5 years of relevant business promotion work experience from education or industry 2. Substantial experience of managing and developing business relationships at all levels and working across institutional boundaries and professional teams experience in ****ding employability, enterprise and/or entrepreneurial activity within the students' experience/higher education programmes, or delivering professional careers education, information, advice and guidance in the context of a HE environment is an asset 3. ?Experience in leading successful projects, organising organisational events and meetings, and working with senior business executives 4. ?Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, credibility with students, staff, alumni, external partners and potential partners/employers. A strong personal network among the industries that the Taicang campus focuses on is an asset 5. ? Ability to think strategically, develop and implement the strategy 6. ?
